Truck Farm

The Truck Farm was conceived by Curt Ellis and Ian Cheney–filmmakers responsible for 2007’s King Corn. The two responded to frustration of the lack of farmable land in the city, particularly Brooklyn, and are now raising arugula, herbs and heirloom tomatoes and delivering them to all neighborhoods around the five boroughs.

Check out the above trailer and episodes on their YouTube page. The final film will be out this winter.

Nowadays this is probably the closest thing to knowing exactly where your food comes from, whether you’re thrilled about it coming out of the back of a pickup truck or not.

The truck will be stationed at BAM’s Good Beer event tonight [tickets], where they will be giving out gardening tips and educating people on the value of locally sourced goods.
