Senior Program Director

The Senior Program Director is responsible for their assigned account(s) and management within these accounts, ensuring on-time, on budget, high quality deliverables and client satisfaction and in some cases, the client lead.

The Senior Program Director, in addition, provides leadership in the Wolff Olins project process, working with other PGM’s to develop the team, establish best practices and mediate external and internal project issues. This individual meets regularly with leadership across disciplines as necessary to facilitate an effective program management function across practices.

Project Responsibilities:

“the glue that hold all aspects of a client account together”
- Responsibility for directing the client account and all projects within the client account from briefing & strategy, through the design process and into implementation, across all mediums and disciplines and geographies
- Work with client lead to map out overall project process
- Actively involved in new business - attends client pitches when appropriate to present Wolff Olins process
- Senior relationship manager – depending on the client some day to day senior client contact
- Establishes the flow of information in all project phases, ensuring that milestones such as client approvals and internal proofing requirements are met and recorded
- Orient strategic and creative work to fulfill client needs/briefs
- Contributes to content
- Primary contact point amongst Wolff Olins’ creative, strategic and production teams
- Facilitates internal project team briefings, design reviews, pre-production meetings as appropriate
- Initiates preparation for project meetings/conferences: agendas, rooms, meals, etc. with admin support
- Keeps supervisor informed of project status and needs
- Resource Management
- Writes proposals and costs jobs
- Quality control responsibility – facilitates feedback, amongst internal and client teams
- Maintains a sense of peace and calmness amongst the team
- Proactively looks for growth opportunities, both new business and on current projects
- Serves on the leadership team when the Head of Program management is unavailable
- Helps create an environment that fosters team growth – both within the PGM team and other members of their project team
- Collaborates with the Head of Program Management in the coaching and plan process of the PGM team members

Financial Responsibilities:

- Establishes budget/billing standards
- Conducts weekly financial project reviews, informs project team and senior managers of budget status
- Manages budgets based on proposals, preparation of add-on business project requests, and monitoring completion of deliverables per proposals and contracts
- Communicates with client as appropriate on financial project matters
- Works with Financial Director to address specific client contract issues

Staff Management Responsibilities:

- Monitors progress and performance of a specific person/team of account managers
- Maintains team files and conducts quarterly and annual reviews
- Recommends specific mentoring and training per individuals on staff
- Conducts bi-weekly resource meetings
- Works with Head of Program Management in the development of the PGM team
- Provides leadership in the area of budget management, facilitating new procedures and tools when appropriate


- Minimum 10+ years in account management or related function in corporate/brand environment, including supervisory experience
- Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills, capable client presence and outstanding people skills
- Detail-oriented, well organized, smart and resourceful
- Solutions-level knowledge specific to practice and industry
- Financial project coordination or budget management experience
- Software skills – Microsoft office – word, PPT, Excel, InDesign, Itask, Microsoft Project
